In 2010 the Managing Director of Greengate Metal Components, Lindsay Walsh was asked to become a founder, patron and board member of ‘Mahdlo Youth Zone’. Initially this was to oversee the building of a fantastic new facility for young people in Oldham. This opportunity to give back to the community was quickly accepted and our support to the charity and the young people of Oldham continues to date.

I saw this as a chance for both myself and the business to give back and help create a legacy for Oldham and its future generations.’’ L. Walsh 

Mahdlo Youth Zone continues to be a huge success, delivering high quality, innovative activities and experiences to the young people of Oldham. Providing opportunities to raise aspirations and support young people to be the best they can be.

The work at Mahdlo falls within six key themes: Get Active (Sports); Get Creative (Arts); Get Sorted (personal development, crime prevention and health and wellbeing); Get Outdoors (outward bound and environmental activities); Get Connected (leadership, volunteering and citizenship); Get Ahead (employment and enterprise).
